Agência Minas Gerais | Minas realiza 6ª Feira da Banana em Delfinópolis
A sexta Feira da Banana de Delfinópolis, que começou nesta quarta-feira (12/6) e vai até o próximo sábado (15/6), traz boas notícias e novidades para produtores e consumidores da fruta mais popular do mundo. A safra de 2024 em Minas Gerais deve chegar a quase 100 mil toneladas, o que representa crescimento de 6,7% em relação ao último ano.
Os dados são da Empresa de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural do Estado de Minas Gerais (Emater-MG), que é uma das instituições apoiadoras do evento no município, localizado na Serra da Canastra. Ainda de acordo com o levantamento, Delfinópolis é o segundo maior produtor de banana do estado, atrás apenas de Jaíba, no Norte de Minas.
Diversificação
A história do cultivo da banana em Delfinópolis começou há cerca de 20 anos, após uma grande perda nas lavouras de café, produto que dominava até então o cenário agrícola do município. Com o grande prejuízo, um grupo de agricultores decidiu investir no plantio de banana, como forma de diversificar a renda das propriedades rurais.
“Na época, alguns cafeicultores procuraram a Emater-MG em Delfinópolis e, nesta mesma ocasião, a Cooperativa dos Cafeicultores de São Sebastião do Paraíso (Cooparaíso) iniciou programa de incentivo à fruticultura, incluindo a banana, o figo e o pêssego, para levar alternativas aos associados”, relembra o produtor Sávio Marinho, um dos fundadores da Adelba e ex-extensionista da Emater-MG em Delfinópolis.
Evento
Realizada pela Associação dos Produtores de Banana de Delfinópolis e Região (Adelba), a Feira da Banana tem uma programação recheada de informações técnicas, com palestras, mesas redondas, dia de campo, além da parte comercial, com exposição de máquinas, equipamentos, insumos, serviços e artesanato.
Além da Emater-MG e da Empresa de Pesquisa Agropecuária de Minas Gerais (Epamig), colaboram para a realização da Feira da Banana de Delfinópolis o Sicoob Sarom, Embrapa, Faemg/Senar, Universidade Federal de Lavras e Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (Uemg). A feira vai até sábado, (15/6).
